Teaching and Writing

MANY years of public school experience as a classroom teacher, teacher trainer, and ESOL specialist in grades K-8 and adult education. I love helping good thinkers become better producers.

I've been fortunate to write and/or consult for Oxford University Press, Discovery Education, National Institutes of Health, and Maryland Public Television/Humanities/Department of Education via a grant from the Library of Congress.  The research units for MPT won the 2018 National PBS Best Open Access Resource Award.  See them at thinkport.org - special collections - teaching with primary sources.

My student books are for emerging readers of any age.
